Help!

Hello lovelies.

I am in serious need of help.

I had such a lovely day afternoon shopping in Southampton with my sister...but it seems that such a huge shopping centre provides pretty huge problems as well. Unfortunately, my student purse is never really full and this month is proving to be particularly strained. But what's a girl to do when River Island flaunts so many gorgeous outfits in her face?!

So, this is where I need your help. I have four outfit options, but can only afford one.

And the nominees are...

At just £15 these shorts were an absolute steal and I left my shopping trip feeling fulfilled! Lace and flowers really are two of my favourite things and these are perfect for S/S day and night. I can't wait to wear them for the first time - I'll be sure to post photos and let you know how I get on.

Flashing by at the speed of light...

...literally today. My family are on their way to Bournemouth and for the first time pretty much ever they are early. Usually they turn up about an hour late so this is extremely good progress for them.

So here's a quick outfit post.

I have found that this outfit also dresses up quite nicely as well by just adding some neutral Prada-inspired-chunky spring heels and a blazer. I think it might be my choice of outfit next time I am out for a few cocktails.

The floral hareems have become one of my favourite wardrobe items. They are so comfortable for just lazing around in but the floral pattern makes me feel that bit more dressed up for when I am heading out the door. They do tend to go a little baggy at the knees (as you can slightly see) which drives me a bit crazy. 

I'm still going to wear them out to dinner tonight with my blazer and lace sandals though. I just love them.

Festival excitement!

Hope you're having a nice monday :)

My friend Paul bought our tickets to Latitude festival yesterday so I am so very excited at the moment! We went last year and it was my kind of festival. So chilled out and absolutely beautifully set up. There were lights and flowers where ever you went and they even have recyclable plastic floral-patterned cups that you can keep if you think they're as cute as I did (be kind to the environment people!)

There's nothing better than spending a weekend in total relaxation, in the middle of a field, wearing a straw hat and absorbing the sun's rays. I also went to beach break last year and had an amazing time!

Anyway, this time of year can only mean one thing - new festival wear! I love the festival preperation almost as much as the actual weekend. It's time to invest in a new straw hat and some comfy loose fit t-shirts and shorts.

I'm keeping my original wellies though. I love my wellies! They were £15 from Office and SO comfortable. I'm quite unfortunate in that I have rather sizeable calves so wellies are usually horrible to wear. But these cut off at just the right point and look great with some long socks underneath them!

I've seen lots that I want already...

I pretty much lived in a couple of pairs of these last year. They are so useful - go with everything, comfortable to wear, not too hot - and they let the sun get to my legs.

Fringe short - Yayer

Not sure I am going to be able to squeeze into these bad boys but I LOVE the fringing. I found this website through another fashion blog and I have to say I am adoring it. It has a gorgeous vintage section with some of the best patterned chunky knits I have seen. If you haven't already you should definitely check it out. Be warned though - it is a little more pricey than the normal high street stores.

Perfect for protecting my shoulders from those rays. I got so very very sunburnt last year. Unfortunatley I definitely have one of those complexions which is either just extremely pale or so red that I almost turn purple. Although last year the festivals did sort that out a bit for me!

Rare Vintage Floral Playsuit - ASOS

I think this could be just perfect for those slightly cooler, cloudy days! You have to be prepared really, it is England after all. We were so lucky with weather last year but I just know the one time I do turn up with just shorts and a tshirt it will probably be freezing. The beauty of the playsuit also means that you have one whole outfit without even really having to try. It wouldn't go too well with my wellies though...

Oh dear, looks like the festival season could be a little bit expensive for me! And there is going to be so much more appearing over the next few months. I am sure it will be more than worth it though. Summer is my favourite time of year!

Early birthday treats!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was absolutely lovely :) My mum, nan, brother and sisters came down for an early birthday celebration. It's not until Wednesday but that didn't stop them spoiling me completely rotten!

Before I share anything else I have to show you my birthday cake - my mum has an absolute talent for making them.

It's a hippo in a bubble bath by the way - We named her Henrietta.

I don't think I have ever loved a birthday cake so much in my life. Sophie and I had a slice today and it is delicious!

As if that wasn't enough they bought me all of this as well:

I love this scent by Marc Jacobs. I remember smelling it in a shop whilst out with mum a few months ago and she remembered and bought it for me. She's a bit of a sweetheart really. This is the Velvet Edition so the larger bottle lid has a gorgeous, soft feel to it - it looks beautiful don't you think?

Lace back-bow sandals - Topshop



These were bought for me by my ever-so-cute Nan! She finds it hard to get around and so doesn't go shopping much but she bought these for me while we were out yesterday.

You might have already noticed that I love almost everything lace so these sandals just seemed perfect. I've never see anything like them before and I think the lace-up back really makes them a bit different. The neutral colour means that they will go with all of my bright spring-coloured clothes without completely overheating my feet on those hot days and they are honestly like slippers to walk in. They will also keep my feet slightly more covered during the cooler spring days and I think they'll look very fashion-forward with a pair of skinny jeans. So excited to wear them out!

Hot air balloon necklace - Accesorize

I do love my quirky necklaces and this is one of my favourite finds recently. I got it with a birthday accesorize voucher so I only had to add a couple of pounds on to buy this beauty! It's taken pride of place hanging over my mirror. Ideal to finish an outift off in the spring really.

My brother and sisters also got my a charm bracelet but it doesn't fit my wrist so I'll have to share that with you when I get it back in a few days time!

Yummy yummy yummy - my uncle always has to give me something alcoholic just to have a dig about my student lifestyle! What a joker.

Also had a lovely meal out at TGI's - well it was lovely until they made me stand on the table while they sang happy birthday to me at the top of their voices. I am so clumsy I really thought the cake was going to come flying out of my hands on to the nearest person's head. Luckily it didn't...

All in all it was just a rather lovely day really! I'm lucky to have such a lovely family. With everything that's going on in the world lately I think you really have to appreciate what you have. My thoughts go out to everyone who is struggling in Japan at the moment - I hope things get better soon.

Lacey day.

I just got back from the cinema with my housemate Abi. We went to see 'Paul' - the new film with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It was a bit disappointing really...I expected more after being in complete stitches watching Hot Fuzz! Ah well, think I might go and see 'No Strings Attached' soon - it has Ashton Kutcher as the lead so I'm hoping it won't disappoint. *daydreams*

Anyway, here's what I wore today. You might recognise it from the blog background...that's how much I love it. It's quite short so I have to wear it with leggings but I completely adore it. From the lovely pink lining underneath the lace (which is a tiny bit see-through but occasionally I do wear it without another top underneath if I'm feeling daring) to the hem that flicks out at the bottom - everything about it just makes me feel comfortable and effortlessly girly.
